LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Greetings,

I am most honored to serve as Chair of the 27th Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Fund. In partnership with the Muskingum County Community Foundation, this exclusive fund, was created with the purpose of strengthening student's experience by providing a book scholarship the first year of college. Since 1994, we have been dedicated to partnering with community members to provide a springboard of opportunity to the students in our community. We are so thankful for the continued support that allows us to continue facilitating such a scholarship to young scholars who are carving their path with tenacity, perseverance, and purpose.

Covid 19 has presented a year of unprecedented times, therefore, we will be doing things a little different this year. WHIZ-TV has been so gracious to be our media partner and air the MLK Prayer Breakfast on January 18th at 12:30pm. This will provide the opportunity for each family to watch the program together with those in thier own households and allows us to provide a safe environment while still being able to have an awards banquet.

Our children represent the best of our community. It is our children that will become the next doctor, lawyer, nurse, physical therapist, or teacher who will motivate the next generation. Thank you to every organization and individual who has continued to contribute their time, efforts, and money to keep our program powered forward for the next generation of professionals in the making.

On behalf of the MLK Scholarship Fund Committee, we look forward to hosting your family in your homes by watching with us as we celebrate this next batch of future world leaders that have worked hard to reach thier goals.  We are confident you will leave inspired!

Best regards,

Kathy Brantley
